The birth.
In 2000, 4 creative minds by the name of Markus Ernst, Philipp “DJ Kitsune“ Senkpiel, Alexander “Chubby B“ Beck and Guiseppe “DJ Gui“ founded Starting Lineup, an agency for artist management and creative consulting with a strong focus on events, music production and music marketing.
2003
FEBRUARY 1ST 2003
Press & distribution deal with Sony Music
Starting Lineup is proud to announce the signing of a new exclusive press & distribution agreement with Sony Music through the Manlio Celotti lead MCC. All Starting Lineup artists and releases will now enjoy the benefits of a major label distribution power while operating independently on the marketing and creative sides.

NOVEMBER 21ST 2008
Starting Lineup Music Publishing founded
Opening our own music publishing division was something we always felt the need to do and in 2008 we opened a brand new chapter with an exclusive joint venture with AMV Talpa. Our first signing to this jv was a super young Christian “Crada“ Kalla, putting his name under his very first publishing deal.
2009
MAY 18TH 2009
First US single release
New York Rap superstars The Lox (Jadakiss, Styles P. & Sheek Louch) aka D-Block release the Crada written and produced single “Get That Paper“, a record that gets heavy rotation on Hot97 due to massive support from Funkmaster Flex.
SEPTEMBER 15TH 2009
First US major label album placement
A new artist by the name of Kid Cudi was about to have the biggest influence on the next generation of urban artists with the release of his debut album “Man On The Moon: The End Of Day“. Starting Lineup’s writer and producer Crada produced one of the album’s outstanding songs by the name of “Hyyerr“ feat. Chip Tha Ripper. The album entered the US Billboard charts on #4 and is certified double platinum by today.
2010
JUNE 15TH 2010
First US #1 Album
In June 2010, Drake, an emerging, young artist from Canada released his debut album “Thank Me Later“ through Young Money/Cash Money Records, distrubuted by Universal Music. Only a few years later, this same artist is widely recognized as the biggest selling pop star of his generation. We’re proud to say that Starting Lineup’s Crada has co-written and co-produced the album’s epic opener “Fireworks“ feat. Alicia Keys. “Thank Me Later“ entered the US Billboard Charts on #1 and has been certified platinum after only 4 weeks.

Starting Lineup Music Publishing starts joint venture with BMG Rights
Starting Lineup Music Publishing expands its activities by turning into a fully operating standalone publisher and enters a global joint venture with rising power house BMG Rights. Part of the new cooperation deal is the signing of Berlin newcomer Teesy into the new publishing house.
